Re-Arranged Thali: ANKA IN LIMBO

A participatory sonic ritual exploring cultural memory, food, and reclamation. Presented as part of Priyanka Sarkar’s debut exhibition during India Week 2025 at Galerie Melike Bilir, Hamburg, this was her first solo performance and installation.

Led conceptually and performatively by ANKA, the work came to life through close collaboration across movement, sound, documentation, and production.

A short film and performance piece exploring the dynamics of intimacy, vulnerability, and trust between two bodies. Initiated by Priyanka Sarkar and Pablo Camargo, the piece evolved from a personal reflection into a group performance presented at HFBK Hamburg during the seminar Der Offene Mund (2022). Using red lip liners and improvisation, the group explored bodily consent, control, and mutual surrender through silent movement and visual gestures.

Grotesque Burlesque

A collective performance exploring body, identity, and spectacle through exaggerated, absurd, and surreal expressions of the self. Led by Priyanka Sarkar, Nick Wachs, and Helena Aljona Kuehn, the work invited participants to arrive in their most grotesque or burlesque form — using costume, persona, and movement to push the limits of embodiment and desire.

Developed and performed as part of Der Offene Mund (2021) at HFBK Hamburg, the piece unfolded through improvisation and collaboration, turning the space into a strange cabaret of vulnerability, parody, and transformation.
